Hello, I’m Dr. Andrew Chen, a psychiatrist dedicated to helping people navigate life’s challenges with compassion, clarity, and respect. I believe that seeking support is an important act of strength, and my goal is to provide a safe, collaborative space where you feel heard and understood.
In my practice, I offer both therapy and medication management, tailoring treatment to your unique needs and goals. Whether it’s depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationships, or anything else – we will work together to find an approach that helps you build the life you want and flourish.
Alongside my clinical work, I’m a senior scientist at Motif Neurotech, researching new technologies for depression treatment. This keeps me up to date with the latest advances in neuroscience, and informs the evidence-based recommendations I offer in my practice.
When you’re ready, please reach out to schedule a complimentary initial phone consultation. I’d be honored to help you move forward.

Initial Phone Consultation
Before booking a full session, I offer a free phone call (~10–15 minutes). We'll talk about your needs and goals, review scheduling and fees, and get a sense of whether we’d be a good fit to work together.
Comprehensive Evaluation
In your first 1 or 2 appointments (55 minutes), we’ll discuss what brings you in, your background, and your hopes for treatment. I’ll listen carefully, ask a lot of questions to better understand your situation, and then share my recommendations. Together, we’ll create a plan that feels right for you.
Ongoing Sessions
Psychotherapy sessions (55 minutes) are typically recommended for once a week. I draw from a wide range of modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), ACT, supportive, and psychodynamic therapy to find the approach that you feel works best for you.
Medication management sessions (25 minutes) are usually monthly and include proactive monitoring of treatment benefits and side effects, in addition to your overall holistic well-being.
I am not in-network with any insurance plans, as this allows me to provide the most personalized and flexible care possible. If you have out-of-network benefits, you may be eligible for reimbursement from your insurance. I can provide you with a detailed receipt (a “superbill”) that includes the necessary information for claims, which you can submit with your insurer’s out-of-network claim form. Reimbursement amounts may vary depending on your specific plan.
Please contact me for more information about my current fees.
